Edes House Wedding with Celebrations at The Nags Head & Fontwell Racecourse!

What a beautiful day to get married!

Today I had the pleasure of joining Wayne and Simon for their official wedding day. Already civil partners for an incredible 25 years, it was about time for another celebration—right? And what better way to do that than standing in front of their closest friends and family, reaffirming the love and commitment they’ve shared for so long.

It was all smiles and hugs as the grooms and their guests arrived! I think they both scrubbed up pretty well in matching suits.

The Ceremony – I was not prepared…

I’d only spoken to Wayne and Simon via emails and one fun Zoom chat, but nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to witness—one of the most incredible, emotional, and joy-filled ceremonies I’ve ever photographed. I’m not kidding when I say this ceremony had all the feels! There were tears, there was laughter, and there was a lot of music. You could feel the love radiating through the room—oozing from the grooms and wrapping around every guest. It honestly felt like such a privilege to witness their vows.

To say the room exploded with cheers when Simon and Wayne shared their first kiss would be an understatement! I might have even joined in—it was that powerful, that meaningful. It’s a moment that will stay with me throughout my career. From start to finish, the love Simon and Wayne have for each other was undeniable. You could see it in every glance, every smile, every word.

Thats enough soppy ceremony chat! lets get into the FUN! I knew today was going to be filled with fun and shenanigans! So lets start as we mean to go on and have everyone throw their best dance moves during family formals... When I say family formals... do they really have to be formal???? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Next stop… The Nags Head!

The tables were already beautifully decorated and set up ready for our arrival. Wayne and Simon had chosen to decorate with brilliant photos from over the years, which made a fantastic talking point for guests to admire and chat about.

Everyone enjoyed a glass of bubbly before heading up to collect their food from the carvery—and can I just say, what a carvery! It was amazing… just look at the size of those Yorkshire puddings! The food was definitely top notch, and I would 100% recommend a Sunday roast here.

And let’s not forget the incredible cheesecake for dessert… I didn’t get a chance to photograph it because, well, I devoured it almost instantly!

Wayne said a few words and had a few surprises up his sleeve—pre-recorded video messages from friends, family, and even a few famous faces, all sending their love and well wishes. It was a massive hit with Simon, and he may have shed a tear or two!

And last but not least, we arrived at Fontwell Racecourse!

Wayne and Simon had a few small final touches to figure out… so naturally, I documented it and supervised Wayne alongside the lovely videographer, Emma!

Once everything was set, we managed to convince them to come for a little stroll—just the two of them—for some relaxed portraits and a bit of time to explore and soak up the beautiful sunset.

And let’s be honest… I’m a sucker for a good sunset!

Time for the arrival of the evening guests!

It was all smiles and hugs as everyone arrived, followed by some truly heartfelt speeches. Then it was Simon’s turn to take the mic—and his speech was beautiful, genuine, and full of emotion.

Next up, their first dance… a highly emotional moment for them both. You could feel just how much this day meant, not only to Wayne and Simon, but to everyone in the room.

One of my absolute favourite shots from the day!

I was determined to capture an epic champagne spray—full of colour, life, and pure celebration—and the grooms definitely didn’t disappoint!

What can I say??? I DO LOVE a good party!

And since my husband was officially invited to the evening do, it would’ve been rude not to join in with the chaos… right?

I may have participated in one too many shots at the bar, and I was definitely guilty of refusing to go home until the DJ played Pink Pony Club.

I FREAKING LOVE MY JOB!!!

Simon and Wayne, you were both absolutely incredible, and I’m so honoured to have been a part of your day. Thank you so much for choosing me to be your photographer—it truly was a joy from start to finish.
