Wedding Photography at Winchester Registry Office and Kimbridge Barn Hampshire

Today’s wedding kicked off with a splash of excitement at bridal prep, where Zoe had chosen the most enchanting setting — Lock Keepers Cottage, a charming fisher’s lodge nestled in a breathtakingly picturesque spot. The recent rain had turned the grounds into a muddy playground though, and we were absolutely not letting Zoe’s stunning dress become a casualty of the muck! So instead we captured some gorgeous moments of Zoe and her fabulous bridesmaids as they prepared for the big day, surrounded by laughter and joy.
The Ceremony at Winchester Registry Office
I had never shot at Winchester Registry Office before and wasn’t entirely sure how parking would work on a busy Saturday so I headed off a little earlier than usual to make sure I arrived in good time. Luckily traffic was fine and the multi-storey had space. Result!
I will admit I did not realise you had to pay for parking before you left the car park rather than on the way out. Luckily I did not get a ticket. PHEW. Lesson very much learned for next time 😂
It was not long before our radiant bride arrived — all smiles and excitement as the final touches were put into place. They even had a guest joining all the way from Australia — albeit on the phone. What an entrance!
Jon could not stop smiling at his bride to be from the moment she arrived. The ceremony went by in a whiz of happy tears and laughter and I could not stop smiling either — the atmosphere was completely infectious. I may also have climbed into the fireplace to get up nice and close to capture some of the intimate moments. I simply could not help myself 😄
Portraits at Winchester Military Museums
Jon and Zoe had both said they wanted some quiet portrait time on the way to Kimbridge Barn so we stopped off at the Winchester Military Museums for a little time for reflection and some fun. The historic buildings and grounds made for a gorgeous backdrop and it was a lovely calm moment for the two of them before the celebrations really got going.
The Reception at Kimbridge Barn, Hampshire
Kimbridge Barn is one of Hampshire’s most beautiful and award winning wedding venues — a stunning barn on the banks of the River Test near Romsey, voted Best Wedding Venue in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight for two consecutive years. With its spectacular vaulted ceilings, exposed oak beams and gorgeous private courtyard it is a genuinely magical place to celebrate and I absolutely love shooting there.
Zoe and Jon were greeted with a hero’s welcome and went straight into the barn for their wedding breakfast. The speeches were beautiful with lots of heartfelt moments that had the room in happy tears. Then it was time for some couple portraits, quickly followed by some fun guest interactions, and before I knew it the evening had arrived in a flurry of sparklers, cake cutting and the most wonderful first dance.
An absolutely brilliant day from start to finish.
