The Post Barn, Newbury Wedding Photographer

Some weddings just stay with you. Stacey and Owen’s April wedding at The Post Barn, Newbury was absolutely one of them. And I’m not just saying that because it’s won me three awards across two separate international photography bodies since! (Although that definitely helped 😂)
The Post Barn at Snelsmore House is a genuinely beautiful venue just outside Newbury in Berkshire. Rustic, warm, and full of character. If you haven’t considered it for your wedding, honestly put it on your list.

A Morning Full of Emotion

I arrived at bridal prep to find Stacey already deep in her feels, and honestly I was here for every single second of it. Owen had written her the most beautiful card, and by the time her makeup artist was working her magic, the tears were flowing freely. It was one of those pure, unguarded moments that reminds me exactly why I do this job. Raw, real, and completely beautiful.
That moment went on to win an award and I’m not surprised. It’s the kind of image that makes your chest ache in the best possible way.

A Family Gathering Done Perfectly

Stacey and Owen’s wedding wasn’t about formality or stiff traditions. It was a warm, fun, family oriented celebration that felt more like the best garden party you’ve ever been to. Garden games, a crackling fire pit with marshmallows, and the most incredible cocktail bar serving pina coladas and strawberry daiquiris. Someone had their priorities absolutely right 🍹
The atmosphere was relaxed, joyful and completely infectious. Exactly my kind of wedding.

That Balcony Shot Though…

The Post Barn has the most gorgeous balcony, and as the evening drew in I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. Using a slow shutter drag technique and the venue’s stunning fairy lights as a natural frame, I created one of my favourite couples portraits to date. The result was magical, dreamy, and yes, award winning 😄
Then after dark we headed outside to the lit archway and honestly the photos speak for themselves. That image went on to win an award too.

Three Awards. Two Award Bodies. One Wedding.

I’m incredibly proud that three separate images from Stacey and Owen’s day have been recognised across two international photography award bodies. The emotional bridal prep moment, the shutter drag fairy light portrait on the balcony, and that stunning lit archway kiss after dark. Three completely different images, three completely different moments, all from the same incredible day. It’s a testament to two things. The stunning setting that The Post Barn provides, and a couple who were just so beautifully, authentically themselves from start to finish.
