I’m Emma, a fun and candid wedding photographer based in Portsmouth, Hampshire, and Skylark is genuinely one of my favourite local venues to shoot at. I’ve photographed weddings here across the seasons, from gloriously hot summer days to crisp golden autumn ones, and every single time it delivers. So here’s a little look at what it’s like to get married at Skylark, and what I’d bring to your day.
A Relaxed, Beautiful Hampshire Wedding Venue
Skylark Golf & Country Club in Whiteley is that lovely mix of laid-back and gorgeous. You get sweeping, manicured green views as your backdrop, big bright windows that flood the rooms with natural light, and acres of open lawns and golf course to spill out onto the moment the sun’s shining. It’s unstuffy and welcoming, but the views make every photo look effortless, which, between you and me, makes my job an absolute joy.
Beautiful Spots for Photos
One of the things I love most about Skylark is how much variety it gives you in one place. There’s the bright, airy ceremony space, the lawns right outside for confetti and that big group shot, and then the golf course itself, where I’ll often whisk you off on a buggy for couples portraits down by the pond and in amongst the trees. As the day softens, those open greens give the most beautiful golden-hour light you could ask for. Whatever the season or the weather, there’s always somewhere gorgeous to capture you.
My Approach as Your Skylark Wedding Photographer
My style is natural, unposed and full of life, with a creative eye for the bold and dramatic too. I’m there for all of it: the morning nerves and laughter, the emotional ceremony, the speeches that make everyone cry-laugh, and the dance floor once the party really gets going. I blend into the day so you can soak up every second with the people you love, and by the end of the night I usually feel like an old family friend. That’s exactly the point, because when you forget the camera’s there, that’s when the honest, unguarded photos happen.
I’m also multi-award-winning and internationally recognised for my flash and lighting work, so whether it’s a blazing midday sun on the greens or a dark evening dance floor, your photos are in very safe hands.

Skylark sits in Whiteley, Hampshire, just off the M27 between Southampton, Fareham and Portsmouth, and only a short hop from Winchester. That makes it wonderfully easy to reach for guests travelling from right across Hampshire and beyond, with plenty of nearby accommodation too.
