The Best Wedding Venues in Hampshire (From a Photographer Who’s Actually Shot at Them)
Right, let’s talk venues. Choosing where to get married in Hampshire is equal parts thrilling and slightly overwhelming, because honestly? We are spoiled rotten down here. Coast, countryside, cathedral city, historic everything. So I’ve pulled together a few of my absolute favourites, and because I photograph weddings for a living, this isn’t a list I’ve copied off Google. I’ve actually stood in these places, camera in hand, watching couples have the best day of their lives. Grab a cuppa and let’s have a nosy.
Skylark Golf & Country Club, Whiteley
One of my all-time favourite local venues, and not just because the light across those greens at golden hour is genuinely ridiculous. Skylark is relaxed, friendly and gorgeous in every season. Have a peek at Amber and Phil’s summer wedding here if you want proof.
Old Thorns Hotel, Liphook
Tucked away in the east Hampshire countryside, Old Thorns is a proper luxury-resort do with room to breathe and grounds that photograph beautifully. Always a fun one. See a fun-filled Old Thorns wedding here.
Newtown House Hotel, Hayling Island
A characterful 18th-century farmhouse hotel a stone’s throw from the beach. If you want relaxed island vibes with a side of sea air, Hayling is hard to beat, and Newtown House does it brilliantly.
Tournerbury Woods Estate, Hayling Island
Woodland weddings make my creative heart very happy, and Tournerbury is a dreamy little pocket of Hayling Island for exactly that. Dappled light, dramatic trees, total escapism.
Langstone Quays Resort, Havant
Waterside weddings with those lovely Langstone Harbour views. Bright, breezy and gorgeous for a coastal celebration that still feels close to Portsmouth and easy for your guests to get to.
The Square Tower, Old Portsmouth
A historic seafront landmark right on the cobbles of Old Portsmouth. Full of character, steeped in history and perfect if you want a city-by-the-sea wedding with a bit of drama.
Kimbridge Barn, Test Valley
If a rustic barn wedding is calling your name, Kimbridge in the Test Valley near Romsey is a beauty. Warm, welcoming and absolutely made for a proper party.
The Barn at Avington, Winchester
Just outside Winchester, this one is all rustic charm and countryside calm. Lovely for couples who want the barn look without straying too far from the cathedral city.
Houghton Lodge Gardens, Stockbridge
A stunning riverside garden venue near Stockbridge that is basically a photographer’s playground. If you love the idea of getting married surrounded by greenery and the River Test, this is your spot.
