Wedding Photography at Tournerbury Woods Estate Hayling Island
Ohhh this wedding. Tournerbury Woods Estate on the 4th of July — honestly, what a day. Sunshine, big smiles, and the most chilled bunch of people just fully living in the moment from start to finish.
Tournerbury Woods Estate, Hayling Island
Tournerbury is genuinely one of the most unique wedding venues in the country — and I don’t say that lightly. Hidden within 50 acres of ancient private woodland on the eastern tip of Hayling Island, it sits right on the edge of the Chichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with sweeping views across the harbour towards the South Downs. It is the only ancient semi-natural woodland and seaside wedding venue in England and once you arrive and drive through those ancient oak and pine trees you completely understand why couples fall in love with it instantly.
The Ceremony
The ceremony overlooked Langstone Harbour and even though the tide was out — classic — it was still the most incredible setting. Everyone was completely relaxed, laughing and wrapped up in the joy of the day from the very first moment.
There was a really beautiful first look between Paige and her dad before the ceremony which was just gorgeous, and another lovely moment with her bridesmaids too. The kind of quiet emotional moments that happen naturally when nobody is performing for the camera — exactly what I love to capture.
George is not a huge fan of having his picture taken — something I completely respect and always work around. So rather than doing one big long couples portrait session we split everything up throughout the day, keeping it relaxed and natural and making sure he never felt put on the spot. It works every single time and the results are always so much more genuine for it.
The Reception
Paige and George put their own brilliant stamp on everything. They brought their own beer, had bar staff come in to manage the drinks and did their own flowers — stunning artificial arrangements in the most gorgeous bright colours that looked absolutely incredible against the woodland backdrop.
Garden games, fun speeches, a brilliant dancefloor that absolutely erupted as the evening got going — it was all just pure good vibes from start to finish.
I spent the whole day chasing the real stuff. The giggles, the tight hugs, the happy tears, the silly dance moves when people thought no one was watching. Kids running around, mates cracking jokes, families soaking up that July sunshine. It was all just wonderful.
A proper summer wedding — simple, joyful and exactly the kind of day that reminds me why I love what I do.
