I’m Emma, a fun and candid wedding photographer based right here in Portsmouth, and there’s nowhere I love photographing more than my adopted city. They’re personal, unstuffy and brimming with emotion, all the magic of a big wedding day, just gloriously focused on what really matters: you two, your favourite people, and the moment you say “I do.” Whether it’s an intimate ceremony with a couple of witnesses or a small gathering of loved ones, a Portsmouth registry office wedding has a warmth that’s genuinely lovely to photograph.

One of the joys of marrying in Portsmouth is everything that’s right on the doorstep. Once the ceremony’s done, we’ve got Old Portsmouth, the historic streets, the seafront and the harbour all close by for relaxed, characterful couples portraits, sea breeze and all. As a Portsmouth local I know exactly where to take you for the best light and the loveliest spots.

And lots of my couples carry the celebration on somewhere afterwards. Sam and Warren, for example, married at Portsmouth Registry Office and then headed up to The Churchillian for their reception, with its gorgeous panoramic views over the city and harbour. Wherever your day goes after the ceremony, I’m happy to follow.
