Wedding Photography at Newtown House Hotel Hayling Island
This wedding over on Hayling Island at Newtown House Hotel was an absolute blast from start to finish. Stacey and Scott booked my essentials package but honestly we crammed in so much it felt like a full day. I genuinely didn’t stop smiling the whole time I was there.
Newtown House Hotel — A Hidden Gem on Hayling Island
If you haven’t heard of Newtown House Hotel you really should have. This gorgeous 18th century converted farmhouse hotel on Hayling Island is one of those venues that completely surprises you when you arrive. With its old ships beams, oak panelling and stone fireplaces alongside quality modern furnishings it has bags of character and warmth. And the staff are genuinely some of the loveliest I have ever worked with at a wedding venue. They truly go above and beyond for their couples and it shows in every single detail of the day.
The Ceremony
Stacey looked like an absolute princess. Her dress was stunning and Scott scrubbed up pretty well too 😄 The ceremony had one of my favourite touches I have ever seen — the rings were hidden under a random guest’s chair before the ceremony began. And the guest who turned out to have the honour of delivering the rings? Scott’s grandad. What could have been a fun gimmick turned into one of the most genuinely lovely moments of the day. Perfect really.
Golden Hour at Newtown House Hotel
We were incredibly lucky with the weather. That gorgeous September golden light was absolutely perfect for family formals and couples portraits in the hotel grounds. The gardens are a stunning backdrop and the light on this particular September afternoon was just extraordinary. One of those evenings where everything falls perfectly into place.
The Party
Stacey and Scott’s guests were just as entertaining as the couple themselves and I was genuinely sad to leave because the party was only just getting started. Before I headed off I managed to catch the surprise singing waiters who had been floating around all day winding everyone up — such a brilliant touch and the perfect way to get the celebrations properly going.
I have absolutely no doubt there were a few sore heads the next morning 😂
