A Fun-Filled Wedding at Old Thorns
Second shooting at Old Thorns was always going to be a good day. When the venue is this beautiful, you just know.
Old Thorns Hotel and Resort in Liphook, Hampshire is one of those venues that genuinely has it all. A stunning ceremony space with exposed beams, floor to ceiling windows flooding the room with natural light, gorgeous grounds, and those sweeping views across the golf course that are an absolute gift during golden hour. If you’re a Hampshire couple looking for a venue that delivers on atmosphere, beauty and fun in equal measure, Old Thorns deserves to be at the very top of your list.
And this August wedding? It delivered on every single one of those things.
The Ceremony at Old Thorns
The ceremony room was dressed beautifully in cream and navy blue, with the most incredible pampas grass florals lining the aisle and adorning the chairs. It was bohemian, warm and completely stunning. The kind of room that makes you catch your breath when you walk in.
One of the most emotional moments of the day came right at the start, when the bride was walked down the aisle by her brother. You could feel the weight of that moment in the room, the love, the pride, the happy tears. Exactly the kind of real, unguarded moment that reminds me why I do this job.
Golden Hour at Old Thorns
Hampshire in August means long golden evenings and Old Thorns delivers one of the best backdrops in the county for couple portraits. Overlooking the rolling golf course with that warm late summer light doing absolutely everything, the portraits from this day are some of my favourites. Natural, relaxed, and completely gorgeous.
No posing, no awkwardness, just two people completely in love and a ridiculous amount of beautiful light to play with.
The Party Energy
This wedding had serious party energy from start to finish. Emotional speeches that had the room in tears, guests who were fully committed to having the absolute best time, and a saxophonist who took the whole evening to another level entirely.
There were glow sticks on the dance floor, arms in the air, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you wish you were a guest and not working 😂 Pure joy, every single frame.
