A Fun, Candid Hotel Miramar Wedding Photographer
Clifftop sea views, Bournemouth sunshine and a whole lot of happy chaos.
Hello, I’m Emma, a fun, candid wedding photographer based down the coast in Portsmouth, and Hotel Miramar in Bournemouth has well and truly stolen my heart. Clifftop views, a gorgeous Edwardian building and a team who genuinely love a party. If you are getting married here and you want someone who will catch all the real, joyful, slightly chaotic moments AND light them beautifully, hello, you are in the right place.

About Hotel Miramar, Bournemouth
Hotel Miramar is an elegant Edwardian hotel perched on Bournemouth’s East Cliff, with gardens that look straight out over the bay. It is steeped in history too, JRR Tolkien used to holiday here! Inside you have characterful rooms for your ceremony and wedding breakfast, and outside there are pretty clifftop gardens with sea views that make for the dreamiest outdoor ceremonies and couple portraits.

Why I Love Photographing Weddings Here
- Outdoor ceremonies with a sea view. A red carpet aisle on the lawn with the bay stretched out behind you. Come on.
- That red brick Edwardian front. Made for flash-lit family formals and big confetti moments.
- The clifftop gardens. Five minutes away from your guests for sea breeze, flying veils and giggles.
- The glowing Hotel Miramar sign after dark. My favourite spot for flash-lit night portraits and champagne sprays.
- The team. Warm, welcoming and brilliant at keeping the day running smoothly, so you can just enjoy it.

Lighting It Beautifully
Seaside weather can be a bit moody, so I bring my own sunshine. I use off camera flash for family formals, the dance floor and night portraits, so everyone is crisp and beautifully lit, even on a grey September afternoon, and the evening shots have real drama. It is a big part of why I am ranked in the top ten in the world for flash wedding photography on the Flash Masters leaderboard.

A Real Wedding at Hotel Miramar
Have a nosy at a real day I photographed here: Helen and Jacob’s Hotel Miramar wedding, complete with an outdoor seaside ceremony, a magician MC, singing, dancing on chairs, a dry ice first dance and champagne and cigars after dark.

Tips for Your Hotel Miramar Wedding Photos
- Pack a plan B for the wind! The clifftop breeze is gorgeous for veils, but have some kirby grips on standby.
- Check what time sunset is and save ten minutes for the clifftop gardens.
- Family formals out front work brilliantly. Keep your list under 12 groups and we will be done in no time.
- Planning a big exit? Confetti in front of the hotel is always a winner.
Kind Words From A Hotel Miramar Couple
“She wasn’t just there to take photographs; she became such a lovely part of the day, making everyone feel completely at ease and somehow managing to capture all those beautiful, natural, candid moments that we didn’t even realise were happening.”
Helen & Jacob, Hotel Miramar
“Looking through our photos now feels like reliving the whole day: every laugh, every tear, every little moment and all the madness in between!”

The Fun Bits
A magician MC, a packed dancefloor and some seriously good moves. Helen and Jacob’s day was a riot!
