Cathedral city charm with the South Downs right on your doorstep.
Why Chichester Is A Beautiful Place To Get Married
Chichester is a bit of a stunner. A historic cathedral city right on the edge of the South Downs, with the West Sussex coast and countryside on its doorstep. From elegant city buildings to rustic barns and outdoor ceremonies with rolling Downs views, it’s a brilliant place to get married, whatever your style.
I’m Emma, a fun and candid West Sussex wedding photographer, ranked top ten in the world for flash. Chichester is a lovely, easy drive from my Portsmouth base, so I’m over that way all the time, photographing the belly laughs, the nervous giggles and the dancefloor chaos with zero stiff posing.

25 Years In The Making
Simon and Wayne had already been civil partners for an incredible 25 years when they got married at Edes House, right in the heart of Chichester. I’d only chatted to them over email and one fun Zoom, and nothing could have prepared me for that ceremony. One of the most emotional, joy-filled ceremonies I’ve ever photographed. Then they took the party to Fontwell Racecourse, which ended in one very epic rainbow champagne spray!
Golden Hour Over The South Downs
Big skies, rolling hills and that gorgeous low sun. Chichester weddings make sunset portraits SO easy, and when the light goes, my flash takes over.

Southlands Barn
A stunning 17th century barn set in 120 acres of farmland with a lake and South Downs views. Hannah and Nicky booked me at short notice when their original photographer couldn’t make it, and I’m SO glad I could!

Great Ballard
A gorgeous outdoor venue inside the South Downs National Park. Bella and Ed had an outdoor ceremony, lawn games and a dancefloor that did not stop. Bella even went for a run before bridal prep, and her dress had pockets. Always a winner!

Fontwell Racecourse
A lively reception venue near Arundel, and the scene of Simon and Wayne’s legendary rainbow champagne spray.
See the champagne chaos →Getting married somewhere else around Chichester? I’m always up for a new venue, and I’ll happily come and have a nosey beforehand.
The Fun Bits
Selfies with the guests, dads pulling silly faces and a dancefloor that refuses to go home. This is the stuff I live for.
