Wedding Photography at Lodge Hill Centre West Sussex
Angela and Paul had been engaged for a good while, had two children together, and then one day just thought… right, let’s actually DO this. I love that. No decade-long planning spreadsheet, just two people deciding they were ready and getting on with it!
Why Lodge Hill Centre
They picked Lodge Hill Centre in West Sussex for the most lovely reason. All their friends and family with little ones could stay on site and use the facilities, so nobody had to do the “we have to leave at 8 because of the babysitter” thing. The kids had a brilliant time, which meant the grown ups did too.
I should mention this one is a bit special. Lodge Hill no longer hosts weddings, and Angela and Paul’s day was the very last wedding ever held there. Quite the way to go out.
The Uncles In The Bridesmaid Dresses
Right, my favourite thing. Years ago Angela’s uncles joked that if they ever got married, they would do it in bridesmaid dresses. Then they went and STUCK TO IT. So yes, those are grown men in full bridesmaid get up, absolutely committing to the bit, and nobody batted an eyelid. Honestly, hats off to them.
Lego Bouquets And A Lego Cake Topper
Angela and Paul are proper Lego fans, so the bouquet was built from Lego and the cake topper was a tiny Lego bride and groom. It is such a simple thing but it told me everything about them in about two seconds flat. Your wedding should look like YOU, not like a Pinterest board you borrowed.
A Limbo Competition And A Smoke Machine Down A Dark Path
The band got a limbo going on the dancefloor, which is exactly the sort of chaos I live for. There is nothing like watching wedding guests in their best outfits attempting to bend backwards under a stick.
Then came my bit. I had a brand new smoke machine and I was DETERMINED to use it. So off we trotted down some seriously dodgy little footpaths to find a nice dark spot, me carrying lights, everyone else carrying a dress and a smoke machine. We all somehow survived without anyone breaking their neck or falling headfirst into a bush, and we came back with that purple lit shot that I am still a bit obsessed with.
